FRIDAY: ANSHE EMET SYNAGOGUE

Event Title: Soul of a Nation Series: In Honor of Passover and Easter

Event Description:
Bright Star / St. James (BSSJ) will join the community of Anshe Emet Synagogue for a special evening of worship, reflection, and fellowship as part of the Soul of a Nation Series. This gathering will honor the sacred seasons of Passover and Easter, highlighting the shared themes of liberation, remembrance, sacrifice, and renewal found within both traditions.

The evening will begin with a Shabbat service, followed by a community Seder dinner. After the meal, participants will engage in a guided conversation reflecting on Jesus and the experience of the oppressed, alongside traditional Hebrew Passover Seder readings, exploring the themes of liberation, suffering, faith, and hope that resonate across both Jewish and Christian traditions.

Rebuilding the Walls: Bronzeville Intentional Evangelism Outreach – Volunteer Registration

Just as Nehemiah was called to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem with strategy, unity, and faith, we are coming together to spiritually rebuild and strengthen the Bronzeville community—one block at a time.

Date: Saturday, March 28, 2026
Time: 11:00am

Purpose:
This is intentional evangelism—grounded in prayer, guided by purpose, and executed with excellence. Volunteers will:
    •    Distribute swag bags on doorknobs as a sign of care and presence
    •    Share flyers as invitations for connection and engagement
    •    Prayerfully engage the community, representing hope, unity, and the love of Christ
We will gather at Colman for prayer, go out to canvass the community in organized teams, and return to close together in prayer—just as Nehemiah and the people labored and prayed together.

150 Volunteers Strong – Building the Wall

Together:
Like the builders in Nehemiah’s time, each person has a section to cover. Volunteers will be assigned

to one of four strategic teams:
    •    North Wall
    •    South Wall
    •    East Wall
    •    West Wall

Each team will include:
    •    2-4 Team Leaders
    •    30–40 Volunteer Community Canvassers

Safety & Support (Working with Wisdom):
Just as Nehemiah set guards while the people worked, we are ensuring safety and structure:
    •    20 Security Personnel (5 per team)
    •    Providing support by vehicle and on foot
This is more than outreach—it’s a call to rebuild, restore, and revive. We are stepping into Bronzeville with the same spirit: focused, faithful, and united.

“The people had a mind to work.” – Nehemiah 4:6
